Valeria – On the Importance of Words

“Mary, Mother of Hope” Valeria Copponi on February 2nd, 2022:

Meditate, my children, meditate: words in themselves can be carried away by the wind, but if you pause for a moment, what is being said can be better understood. Sometimes words become useless because you open your mouth without thinking — with the heart as well — about what you are saying. Remember, my children, that the mouth is very important, but if what comes out of it does not also come from the depths of your being, what you are trying to say to others loses any deep[er] meaning. [1]James 1:26: “If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, his religion is vain.” Recall the discourses of Jesus to His disciples: every word is full of meaning [2]Matthew 5:37: “Let your ‘Yes’ mean ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ mean ‘No.’ Anything more is from the evil one.” — Jesus never wasted words, everything that came out of his mouth was the Word of life. Little children, imitate your Savior: do not follow earthly words but read and meditate on the Word of the Gospel if you want to give a primary significance [primaria importanza] to your earthly existence. For you speech is very important, but always accompany it with love. [3]1 Corinthians 13:1: “If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.”

You are in the times when all things will be fulfilled: seek to give importance to the Word of God alone and you will have the assurance of not being disappointed. Unfortunately, your sufferings will not end here, but thanks to your offering them, they will acquire great importance in the eyes of God. I am with you and will continue exhorting you to pray and offer up, for this alone will be helpful for your salvation. I embrace you all and clasp you to my heart. I love you and want you all to come to the blessed eternal dwelling.
