Queen of the Rosary and of Peace to Edson Glauber :
Footnotes
↑1 | Obviously, the absolution received in the Sacrament of Confession is not rendered null even if the penitent himself or herself does not explicitly undertake acts of reparation (notwithstanding the fact that all the Faithful should, indeed, do reparation for their sins and those of the whole world); instead, so long as there is contrition — even if imperfect — a penitent is always completely forgiven by virtue of a valid Sacramental Confession. But more broadly and significantly, it is only due to the reparative power of the Passion of Christ that sins may be forgiven, therefore it is not incorrect to say that “without reparation there is no forgiveness,” for it is above all Jesus Who has done the reparation for our sins. |
