A Musical Tribute to Our Lady

On this, the Feast of Our Lady’s Assumption — when according to tradition, the mother of Jesus was assumed body and soul into Heaven — Countdown to the Kingdom’s Mark Mallett leaves this musical tribute to she, who is our mother, too (John 19:26-27). As Mark has written in the past, she is not only The Masterwork of God’s creation, but a key to understanding who we are in God’s plan: The Key to the Woman

Mary is not a goddess but a creature like the rest of us — but the most beautiful and privileged of all. Because of this, the Church honors her as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. Even the protestant Martin Luther understood this:

Mary is the Mother of Jesus and the Mother of all of us even though it was Christ alone who reposed on her knees… If he is ours, we ought to be in his situation; there where he is, we ought also to be and all that he has ought to be ours, and his mother is also our mother. —Martin Luther, Sermon, Christmas, 1529

And so, with that, we leave you with three songs in Our Lady’s honor — she who is with us in a special way at Countdown to the Kingdom, leaving us messages through her chosen souls to guide her beloved Son’s Church through this hour of darkness to the eventual Triumph of her Immaculate Heart, when Jesus will be Lord of all nations in spirit and truth.

Also, the image you see above and below is the recent painting of Mark’s daughter, Tianna Williams, which was commissioned for a Canadian Catholic Church. It’s called Our Lady of the Angels… angels who greeted her upon her assumption.
