Scripture – Fill the Earth!

God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them:
“Be fertile and multiply and fill the earth… Be fertile, then, and multiply;
abound on earth and subdue it.” (Today’s Mass reading for February 16, 2023)

 

After God cleansed the world by Flood, He once again turned to man and wife and repeated what He had commanded at the very beginning to Adam and Eve:

Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it. (see also Gen 1:28)

You read that right: fill the earth. Twice, God expressed His desire that the earth’s population be abundant; that humans multiply, spread, and populate the entire earth. But according to the world’s billionaires, God made a mistake; He’s bad at math; He didn’t foresee a “population explosion” in the 21st century. The world is now “overpopulated”, they claim, and therefore abortion, contraception, and euthanasia are not only “rights” but increasingly “duties” of every citizen. We are repeatedly told our “carbon footprint” is just too much for Mother Earth to bear and that there are simply too many mouths to feed. 

Except that’s all a lie. A big fat lie. 

In truth, the world is neither short on food, nor is it overpopulated at 8 billion people.^[1]cf. worldometers.info The entire global population can actually fit inside the State of Texas with almost 1000 sq. ft. around each person.^[2]Divide 7,494,271,488,000 sq ft by 8,017,000,000 people, and you get 934.80 sq ft/person. In fact, National Geographic reported ten years ago:

Standing shoulder-to-shoulder, the entire world’s population could fit within the 500 square miles (1,300 square kilometres) of Los Angeles. —National Geographic, October 30th, 2011

Moreover, the claim that we do not have the food to feed the entire world is also a big fat lie.

100,000 people die from hunger or its immediate consequences every day; and every five seconds, a child dies from hunger. All of this takes place in a world that already produces enough food to feed every child, woman and man and could feed 12 billion people. —Jean Ziegler, UN Special Rapporteu, October 26th, 2007; news.un.org

What we lack is the will, compassion, empathy, and mobilization to do it. Many parts of the Third World still lack clean water in 2023 — a problem that could collectively be solved within a few short years. God did not make a mistake. He did not fail to “plan.” The Creator did not leave mankind without either the intellect or the resources to fulfill His will. 

It’s extremely telling, if not prophetic, that when God commands Noah and his family to multiply and fill the earth, He prefaced those words as such:

If anyone sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed;
For in the image of God
has man been made.

Be fertile, then, and multiply;
abound on earth and subdue it. (Gen 9:6-7)

The juxtaposition of those two paragraphs essentially frames the “final confrontation” of our times — what St. John Paul II called a battle between the “culture of death” vs. the “culture of life.”

This marvelous world — so loved by the Father that he sent his only Son for its salvation — is the theater of a never-ending battle being waged for our dignity and identity as free, spiritual beings. This struggle parallels the apocalyptic combat described in the First Reading of this Mass [Rev 11:19-12:1-6]. Death battles against Life: a “culture of death” seeks to impose itself on our desire to live, and live to the full. There are those who reject the light of life, preferring “the fruitless works of darkness.” Their harvest is injustice, discrimination, exploitation, deceit, violence. In every age, a measure of their apparent success is the death of the innocents. In our own century, as at no other time in history, the “culture of death” has assumed a social and institutional form of legality to justify the most horrible crimes against humanity: genocide, “final solutions,” “ethnic cleansings,” and the massive “taking of lives of human beings even before they are born, or before they reach the natural point of death”…. Abortion and suicide alone are claiming over 3.5 million lives worldwide each month.^[3]cf. worldometer.com 

The “dragon” the “ruler of this world” and the “father of lies” relentlessly tries to eradicate from human hearts the sense of gratitude and respect for the original, extraordinary and fundamental gift of God: human life itself. —POPE JOHN PAUL II, Ibid. As such, policy advisors and “philanthropists” alike have taken upon themselves to reduce the world’s population by numerous means. 

By the envy of the devil, death came into the world: and they follow him that are of his side. (Wis 2:24-25; Douay-Rheims)

In a 2010 TED Talk that went viral across the globe, World Health Organization funder, Bill Gates, essentially laments that the words of the Book of Genesis are being fulfilled: 

The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s headed up to about nine billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services [ie. abortion, contraception, etc.], we could lower that by, perhaps, 10 or 15 percent. —TED talk, February 20th, 2010; cf. the 4:30 mark

The Rockefeller’s Population Council, which has donated to Planned Parenthood — one of the largest abortion providers in the world — conducts research in biomedicine, social science, and public health. They also play an active role in population control by their research and licensing of contraceptive products and methods and by promoting “family planning and reproductive health care” (ie. abortion).^[4]cf. web.archive.org In the 1968 annual report of The Rockefeller Foundation, it lamented that…

Very little work is in progress on immunological methods, methods such as vaccines, to reduce fertility, and much more research is required if a solution is to be found here. — “The Presidents Five-Year Review, Annual Report 1968, p. 52; view pdf here

Researcher and author, William Engdahl, recalls that…

…since the 1920’s the Rockefeller Foundation had funded the eugenics research in Germany through the Kaiser-Wilhelm Institutes in Berlin and Munich, including well into the Third Reich. They praised the forced sterilization of people by Hitler’s Germany, and the Nazi ideas on race “purity.” It was John D. Rockefeller III, a life-long advocate of eugenics, who used his “tax free” foundation money to initiate the population reduction neo-Malthusian movement through his private Population Council in New York beginning in the 1950’s. The idea of using vaccines to covertly reduce births in the Third World is also not new. Today, we may very well be witnessing the fruits of that research in the mRNA gene therapies that have been rolled out to billions over the past two years.

Anecdotally, we just heard from a family friend of ours, who is a professional midwife, that since the rollout of the mRNA injections, about half of the pregnant mothers she is tending to are ending in miscarriage. This is unprecedented, but sadly, it is appearing increasingly deliberate.

The Pharaoh of old, haunted by the presence and increase of the children of Israel, submitted them to every kind of oppression and ordered that every male child born of the Hebrew women was to be killed (cf. Ex 1:7-22). Today not a few of the powerful of the earth act in the same way. But a fertility “crisis” is not new. It’s been in the headlines for at least the past decade and rapidly becoming an existential crisis:

In November of 2022, the journal Human Reproduction Update published data revealing that the collapse in male fertility rates around the world is accelerating with sperm counts having dropped by 62 percent in under 50 years — a decades-long trend that is picking up pace.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation curiously invested millions into the company Monsanto, which produces the agricultural chemical Glyphosate. Is it just coincidence, then, that Monsanto’s product “Roundup”, which is now showing up everywhere and in everything from groundwater to most foods to pet food to the urine of “the majority of children” to over 70% of American bodies — is also linked directly to vaccines, which is now Bill Gates biggest financial investment?

The glyphosate is a sleeper because its toxicity is insidious and accumulative and so it slowly erodes your health over time, but it works synergistically with the vaccines… In particular, because glyphosate opens up the barriers. Cholesterol sulfate plays an essential role in fertilization and zinc is essential to the male reproductive system, with a high concentration found in semen. Thus, the likely reduction in the bioavailability of these two nutrients due to effects of glyphosate could be contributory to infertility problems. — “Glyphosate’s Suppression of Cytochrome P450 Enzymes and Amino Acid Biosynthesis by the Gut Microbiome: Pathways to Modern Diseases”, by Dr. Anthony Samsel and Dr. Stephanie Seneff; people.csail.mit.edu

Another farming chemical, Atrazine, used on corn, sorghum and sugarcane, has been banned in 44 countries, but is still used in the United States. “A trove of well-documented research has linked the endocrine-disrupting weedkiller to birth defects, low sperm counts and fertility problems.”^[5]August 3, 2022; childrenshealthdefense.org

Another headline blared in February last year:

“Plastics a Big Factor in Rapidly Declining Sperm Counts” —February 3, 2023, childrenshealthdefense.org

And finally, a peer-reviewed Danish study has found a link to declining sperm counts and “forever chemicals” — those used to make thousands of products resistant to water, stains and heat. PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are found in food packaging, nonstick cookware, waterproof fabrics, paints, plastics, waxes, dental floss, carpet and more. They are “forever” because they do not break down. 

Life is under attack!^[6]cf. The Great Poisoning

Whoever attacks human life, in some way attacks God himself.

On May 8th of 2020, an “Appeal for the Church and the World to Catholics and All People of Good Will” was published. Its signatories include Cardinal Joseph Zen, Cardinal Gerhard Müeller (Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith), Bishop Joseph Strickland, and Steven Mosher, President of the Population Research Institute, to name but a few. Among the Appeal’s pointed messages are the warning that “under the pretext of a virus… an odious technological tyranny ” is being established “in which nameless and faceless people can decide the fate of the world”.

We have reason to believe, on the basis of official data on the incidence of the epidemic as related to the number of deaths, that there are powers interested in creating panic among the world’s population with the sole aim of permanently imposing unacceptable forms of restriction on freedoms, of controlling people and of tracking their movements. The imposition of these illiberal measures is a disturbing prelude to the realization of a world government beyond all control… Let us also consider the blatant contradiction of those who pursue policies of drastic population control and at the same time present themselves as the savior of humanity, without any political or social legitimacy.  —Appeal, May 8th, 2020

St. John Paul II was undoubtedly prophetic when he warned that “We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-church, between the Gospel and the anti-gospel, between Christ and the antichrist.”^[7]Cardinal Karol Wojtyla (JOHN PAUL II ), at the Eucharistic Congress, Philadelphia, PA for the bicentennial celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, August 13, 1976; cf. Catholic Online In other words, the “culture of life” vs. the “culture of death”. 

In today’s Psalm, a future generation is given a promise — the promise of victory over this culture of death:

Let this be written for the generation to come,
and let his future creatures praise the LORD:
“The Lord looked down from his holy height,
from heaven he beheld the earth,
to hear the groaning of the prisoners,
to release those doomed to die.”
